Allergy & Gut Sensitivity Testing
Identifying allergies and sensitivities can allow the diet to be individualised to remove any food stresses from the body ensuring that any missing nutrients are received through an alternate source.
Allergies can develop from a very young age or develop throughout life brought on by stress, changes in hormones. These trigger an immediate reaction from your immune system putting stress on the body. Sensitivities trigger a more delayed milder immune reaction. Allergies can cause a wide range of symptoms including bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, brain fog, migraines, rashes, itching, sneezing, sore/itchy throat and in severe cases anaphylaxis shock.
Gut intolerances are caused by an inability for the body to break down and digest certain foods which may due to a lack of the required enzymes or related to gut inflammation or conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome/Disease. Symptoms may include constipation, diarrhoea, cramps, bloating etc.
Muscle Response Testing or Blood spot tests are available to identify specific allergens/intolerances.
Gut Health Tests
Stool testing clinically evaluates the root of any inflammation, digestive function and the diversity of your gut microbiome, including any yeasts or parasites. Some conditions have similar symptoms so testing may be required to obtain further information, identifying the underlying cause to be treated.
Keeping your microbiome in balance through good gut health can improve your mood and memory. Gut health is also necessary to support the absorption of nutrients, improve the immune system and allergic responses.
Kinesiology (Muscle Response Testing)
Muscle Response Testing is a non-invasive technique that helps to identify imbalances in your body. This is carried out by testing the response between your muscle and brain, when gentle pressure is applied to an arm or leg whilst being exposed to potential triggers, such as foods, substances or environment factors.
The process involves testing the strength of a muscle whilst the body is in contact with or near a possible trigger or imbalance. When the muscle response changes, the body is experiencing an imbalance/stress due to the substance being tested. This can reveal underlying sensitivities, intolerances, allergic reactions or imbalances in the body.
