My Journey To Becoming A Naturopathic Nutritionist
After years in a demanding business role, followed by a rewarding but intense teaching career, all while being a full-on mum, life caught up with me. A wave of emotional stressors hit, and I found myself spiralling.

Sarah really helped me to understand the impact good nutrients have on my overall health and well-being, particularly being peri-menopausal. With her help and support I was able to make small, incremental nutritional changes to my eating habits, the beneficial impact of which I began to feel within a week. I was really amazed and only wished I had done this sooner. Sarah has the ability to put a person at ease and explain complicated issues in clear and simple terms, which was exactly what I needed.Posted on Julie BuchananTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. About Sarah Phipps
I was struggling with my health: anxiety, hormonal imbalances, disrupted sleep, allergies, migraines, joint aches, low energy… and a very busy brain that couldn’t switch off. I started to feel like I was always running on empty, overwhelmed and struggling to cope with things that I used to manage with ease.
In an attempt to keep going, I began reaching for vices to cope, and that glass of wine while cooking dinner quickly became part of my daily routine. I was stuck in a cycle of survival mode, masking symptoms without understanding what was really going on beneath the surface.
I just knew I should feel better
Despite seeking help and exploring various holistic approaches, something was still missing. I just knew I should feel better. Hospital tests found nothing wrong, and medication was recommended to manage the symptoms, but deep down, I sensed there had to be another way.
What I didn’t yet realise was how my lifestyle, diet, and emotional load were affecting my physical health, and the root of it all was in my gut. The imbalances were having a knock-on effect on my mood, energy, and emotional wellbeing, creating a cycle I couldn’t break out of until I began to understand what my body was trying to tell me.
A life-changing journey
Driven to understand what was really going on, I began studying nutrition from a naturopathic perspective. That journey became life changing. I spent three years retraining as a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist and began healing from the inside out.
Now, I support others, especially those feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or struggling with mood, skin, or emotional imbalances. My particular focus is on gut health and how it connects to everything from emotional wellbeing and neurodivergent support to skin health and hormonal balance.
Since making my own changes, I wake up with energy. I feel calmer, more present, and better able to handle life’s demands. And I’m passionate about helping others feel the same.
It’s about more than just food
Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy is about more than just food. It’s a whole-person approach that considers the body, mind, and emotions.
I take a holistic and personalised approach, starting with a full case history that goes right back to birth, so we can understand how someone’s current health has developed over time. That includes exploring diet, lifestyle, stress, sleep, medications, and even things like birth history and early life events, all the clues that help me piece the puzzle together.
I may also incorporate kinesiology and muscle response testing to gain a deeper insight as part of the healing process.
From there, I create a nutrition and lifestyle plan that’s completely tailored to the individual, whether it’s supporting digestion, hormone balance, energy, mood, or simply getting back on track after a tough patch. Some people come to me for a one-off health MOT, others work with me over time for deeper support and coaching.
I know how overwhelming change can feel, especially when your brain is on overdrive and life is already too busy. That’s why I offer supportive, realistic, step-by-step coaching that fits your lifestyle.
My goal is to help you uncover and address the root causes of your imbalances, so you can feel well, be well, and live with more clarity, calm, and connection.
