FROM THE INSIDE OUT… why foundations matter more than quick fixes

We’ve been in the middle of moving house and starting renovations and like so many things in life, it didn’t quite go to plan. What looked not too bad on the surface quickly turned into something much bigger.

Once we started peeling things back, we realised everything needed stripping right back. A new heating system, re-plastering, new floors… more than we expected.

We could have patched things up.
Kept costs down.
Worked around what wasn’t quite right.

But deep down, we knew that wouldn’t actually fix the problem. And I’ll be honest, I felt frustrated at times, spending money on things you can’t even see, while the nicer finishing touches have had to wait.

But it made me reflect…. Because this is exactly what I see so often with our health.

Why we focus on the surface

It’s much more appealing to focus on what we can see.

How we look.
What we wear.
Quick fixes that promise results.

And these things can absolutely support confidence and how we feel day to day. But what if we’re going out, showing up, doing all of that… and not really feeling ourselves underneath?

  • Low energy
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Digestive issues
  • Or just not quite feeling like you

So often, we carry on and adjust around it. But just like the house… eventually those cracks start to show.

This is where real change begins

Real, lasting change happens when we work from the inside out.

Not covering things over.
Not chasing quick fixes.

But building strong foundations that actually support you.

Supporting your body properly.
Understanding what it needs.
Making small, realistic changes that fit into your everyday life.

I’ve been reflecting recently on how, when we look after ourselves and our family most of the time, not perfectly, just consistently,we can build resilience and support our bodies, even when life throws challenges our way.

This is the approach that underpins everything I do.

What building strong foundations actually looks like

It’s not about overhauling everything overnight.

It’s about:

  • Creating simple, nourishing routines
  • Understanding how to balance your meals
  • Supporting energy, digestion and mood
  • Feeling more confident in your everyday choices
  • Making changes that work for your life and family

And most importantly, it’s about understanding the why behind what you’re doing. Because when you understand why your body responds the way it does, it naturally creates the motivation, the want, to make changes that actually last.

The Kitchen Table 💛

This is exactly what I’ve brought into The Kitchen Table.

I’ve just finished the first series with the most amazing group of women, and honestly… what a joy it’s been.

When I created these workshops, my vision was simple: to help make meaningful, lasting changes to your health and lifestyle in a way that actually feels achievable.

Not overwhelming. Not restrictive. Just real, practical, and tailored to you.

Here’s what some of the ladies shared:

“Sarah has provided so much information but in a beautifully relaxed and non-overwhelming way… it felt really personal and tailored.”

“Insightful • Informative • Relaxed & enjoyable • Eye-opening • Grateful”

And some of their wins:

  • Feeling more hydrated
  • Making healthier choices
  • More energy
  • More organised cupboards
  • Better understanding of food and sourcing
  • Greater awareness of nutrition and its impact
  • More confidence with family meal choices
  • Excitement around food again
  • Feeling happier overall

If this is resonating with you…

If you’ve been thinking about making changes but don’t know where to start, this is a supportive, intimate group designed to help you do exactly that. in a way that feels realistic and personalised to your lifestyle.

The next Kitchen Table starts after Easter, and there are currently 3 spaces remaining.
